Bobsville is a town that is named after Bob's father, Robert, who built most of it. The town approximately has a population about 3,134 people.

Bob and his father Robert build his home and yard here. During this time, Bob was a teenager (then aged 15) who wanted to be a builder. After Bob's home and yard was complete, Bob moved into it and his father moved out of town. Bob worked here with Wendy, his assistant, and his machines. They usually did repair work and small building jobs.

There are many places in Bobsville, such as a building supplies yard, a pizza shop, a farm and an airport.

A few years later, there was a competition to plan a town in Sunflower Valley. The competitors had to design a model layout and the winner would get to see their plans built in Sunflower Valley. Bob entered the competition last minute and later won the contest. What Bob didn't know was that he got the job of building the town. Bob and the machines then moved out of Bobsville to start building in Sunflower Valley. After they left, Robert returned back to Bobsville and he and Benny looked after the yard and did the repair work here.

Specials

Fixham Harbour[]

Fixham Harbour is very similar architecturally to Bobsville, and notably connects with Sunflower Valley. Bob's Yard in Fixham is also similar to his old one in Bobsville. Instead of having open wooden carports, the machines now live in newer garages. Even the houses in Fixham are similar to those in Bobsville, although the city is located closer to the sea. Fixham Harbour is likely close in location to Bobsville, hence the resemblance.

Trivia[]

  • Keith Chapman had originally called the town Brixwood, and had based the town off the seaside town of Nairn, located in Scotland. This did not carry over to the final series.[1]
    • Despite this, on early VHS descriptions, the name Brixwood is used.
  • Bobsville's location is mostly unknown, as details of where the town is located are intentionally vague, but it is most likely located in the United Kingdom due to the series originating from the United Kingdom and the town resembling a British countryside town.
  • Bobsville has a twin town, Bobblesberg, where information and other things are exchanged between the two towns during winter celebrations.
  • Bobsville was the series' main location in the Original Series (Series 1 to 9), and in Project: Build It, it became a major location in Series 10, while it became a minor or recurring location from Series 11 to 16, as Sunflower Valley became the main setting for the series until Ready, Steady, Build! when Bob and the crew moved to Fixham Harbour.
  • In Packer's First Day (Series 13), Packer appears in Bobsville at Mr. Sabatini's old Pizza Takeaway.
  • In the Swedish Version, Bobsville is called Bobköpning
  • There is a real life town with the same name located in County Meath, Ireland.
    • Ironically, in the Slovenian version, Bobsville is called Mihovci, which is also a real place in Slovenia.
